Track 1 — Claude Foundations

The bedrock track. By the end you can hold a productive conversation with Claude, pick the right model, ground answers in your own documents, decide what to delegate to AI in the first place, and know exactly where Claude's limits are. Everything in Tracks 2–8 assumes you're fluent here.

Audience: everyone, right after an on-ramp. · Est. time: ~4–5 hours over 3–4 short sessions. · Prereq: a claude.ai account (setup-checklist, section a) and ideally track-0a-non-technical or track-0b-never-used-claude. · Outcome: confident, everyday Claude use.

Sequence

Work top to bottom. Watch each Anthropic video, read the matching hyperframes, then build the project before moving on.

1. Meet Claude · ⏱ ~60 min + ~45 min project

  • Course: claude-101 — what Claude is and where it lives, conversation-with-context, the four prompt levers (Role/Task/Context/Format), iterating in follow-ups, file uploads, Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Projects, Artifacts, and trust-but-verify.
  • Project: p01-first-conversations — run 10 real tasks, apply the four levers, keep a before/after of one prompt you improved.

2. Work with AI, not just use it · ⏱ ~60 min + ~45 min project

  • Course: ai-fluency-framework-foundations — the 4 D's: Delegation (what to hand off), Description (how to ask), Discernment (judging the output), Diligence (verifying and owning the result).
  • Project: p03-ai-fluency-delegation-audit — audit your own recurring tasks against the 4 D's and produce a personal delegation plan.

3. Know what to trust · ⏱ ~45 min

  • Course: ai-capabilities-and-limitations — strengths vs. failure modes: hallucination, knowledge cutoff, arithmetic, bias, and the techniques (grounding, verification, asking for sources) that make outputs reliable.

You're ready to move on when…

  • You can run a multi-turn conversation and improve the result with follow-ups rather than re-prompting.
  • You can name the four prompt levers and the four D's without looking.
  • You can choose Opus vs. Sonnet vs. Haiku for a given task and justify it.
  • You can list at least three of Claude's limits and the right mitigation for each.
  • You've completed p01 and p03 and journaled one takeaway from each in learning-journal-template.
